Wear It Clothing Co Opens Nov 11,12, 15 @ Zombo Gallery Lawrenceville Pittsburgh PA

The Zombo Gallery now opens its door to local fashion designers and clothing collectors.

On Thursday, November 12th at 6pm, The Zombo Gallery located at 4900 Hatfield St.15201 in the Lawrenceville section of Pgh, will open, "The Wear It Clothing Company".

It will feature affordable, retro and locally designed men's and women's clothing and accessories by a variety of local designers and collectors.

It will expand the gallery operations in two huge ways, 1. Naturally, adding clothing. But more importantly, 2. Giving us regular hours.

Free food and booze at the openings!

All current show artwork will remain on display during store hours. The racks will be wheeled out for art opening and closing receptions.

The new hours will be:
Wed-Saturday 1pm- 7pm and Sundays 1pm-5pm.

Some End Others Start

Ending at 9 pm tonight (Saturday 9 pm slt) is the Prim & Proper ( Shengri La 90/77/25) sale. You'll find tons of stuff for the Ladies and a nice assortment of period accessories for the Gents. All sale proceeds are going Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Most items are $100 and under! From the Prim & Proper group announcement:

You can pick this hair up along with two of the latest styles for free next to any of the new hairs. And if you prefer the House of Heart textures don't forget to visit there also for the free wearable demos (Remember look for the hairs marked with the sparkling "New" signs and look for the small picture of all the new styles. The new release small picture will contain the demos). Another store I stumbled across this week was Made for You (Ichoen (75, 52, 58) which offered some goodies for guys and girls! You'll find a unisex freebie box on the table as you enter and the dress is near the entry of a side space which has dresses. You'll also find two lucky chairs here!

The updo is the *TVT* freebie hair and the short hairstyle is from Bewitched's clearance area which has a ton of $1 hairstyles like the one above.

Before I go.....

I received a couple of request to feature a couple of items and wanted to share a couple of things before I leave for vacation. First up I want to say this look is totally for the guys (Yay!).



I found this store by spotting someone in an outfit I had to have. No longer do I ask where did you get *that* when I see someone in a prim outfit! I just right click > more > more > inspect >then press the "see creator's profile" to find out where an item is from. Usually the owner will either have a slurl to their store in their profile, a dedicated pick under the picks tab, a classified under the classified tab or you can im or notecard a request for the slurl to the creators store. This works 90% of the time without bothering the person who is wearing 'x' that is a *must* have. The sad news was everything in the store was no transfer so I didn't get the dress, but hey I found 3 outfits for free including the suit above at YumeRing (Akiba (149, 181, 21). The suit is upstairs so you'll have to do a bit of floating or camera view in the 2nd story of the store to pick up the suit. You'll also find a feather boa or 'wing muffler' that is unisex if you like a bit of glam! The hair is a unisex style from Curl up and Dye Salon (Inari (32, 191, 400) which I bought for $1 on the round table in the middle of the store where you'll also find two camp for hair chairs. The shoes are from the Token sim's black suit. The Japanese posh apartment business must be doing well because their are several outfits that have been added to this sim since I originally blogged about it. ($0 suit, $1 hair, m&f&mascots available on the Token sim all $0)





Downstairs at YumeRing (Akiba (149, 181, 21) I found a couple of dresses in a box(----Smart Diff). The red one above is modeled with skin I won camping at a store I was contacted about and decided to check out: +++BLUE BLOOD+++ [(North Star (165, 33, 23) 20 minute camp/random prize]. The black dress below was also in the box (----Smart Diff) which I am modeling with skin in the Japanese Ganguro makeup style from NexR (Tokyo Pig Sight (157, 124, 23).



The boots are part of hunt put on by Crimson Shadow that Tox1c Chemistry was kind enough to let me know about and also provided me with the sculpty pink boots I'm modeling above. Here is the info on how you can get the pair I'm wearing above along with a red & blue pair all are Unisex:

Yay! My lappy is back from the dr's with a brand new keyboard and hopefully it will not shut off every time I enter the little pixelated universe I call part time home. Hope you didn't miss us too much. =^.^=

Well, in case you missed it on the entry a couple below this one Amorepacific4's hair spot (this is the Mise En Sine location on the hud found at approximately: Amorepacific4 81, 137, 66) is back up and running. Stop by to camp for some darling hairs for both the guys and gals. (Don't forget there are a couple of hair styles for the ladies in the Hera ballroom along with dresses, shoes, masks, & fans. You can also find free furniture, han-bock dresses, shoes, and knick-knacks in the Amore Museum. And don't forget there are a couple of spots to camp for female skins also. Explore, explore, explore!) (Camp times vary from 20 minutes or less.)

I received a lovely preview of $1 skins from SavannahAnn of Spirit (Plush Tau 41, 14, 28). If you teleport to the Pro Cheer Skin's room you'll find that one pack of each Veteran skin tone (commercial accessible from Spirit's blog) is available priced at only $1/pack normally $1000. So if you haven't gone by to check out this new hybrid photo sourced - hand painted line NOW is your chance! Look for the Giants Light Glossy and Matte pack in whatever skin tone you prefer. ($1/2 pack of skin) These skins were used in all the photos.

When I logged in I found myself at the ever expanding SakuraTown (mall area I - SakuraTown 46, 46, 32) which has added a new SakuraTown II mall area ( SakuraTown 71, 197, 24). The mall area II recently celebrated it's grand opening and many of the freebies may be taken down so rush over to check it all out. If you haven't visited this area please stop by and check it out. It's jammed with freebies and you can enjoy the spring festivities. If you get confused the red roofed areas are part of the original mall and blue roofed stores are part of the mall II expansion. There's even a couple of things for the guys to. ($0)



Much more behind cut...

Another Sakura festival and shopping area hot spot is located in the Access Island region. I've written about this area (access 162, 150, 22 -cross the bridge if you'd like to look at the area previously blogged) before, but since then it has expanded doubling in size. If you haven't experienced a lot of Japanese shopping this would be an excellent introduction to tons of designers. There's a lot here, but only about 10 items offered up from any one designer. There's numerous stalls ranging from clothing, hair, skin, tinies, and even a couple of neko items. And yes, the guys will be happy if you bring them along because there are a couple freebies here for him also! ($0-$1)



If you haven't popped on over to the Wing Fling (Platinum 128,10,21) you might just want to because besides having a ton of wings in one place to browse there are also two great deals ($1 & 0). You can find a great map of the booth layout on Second Style Cast. You'll want to check out Seven's Selections and Battle Fairy's booths.



The capris modeled with the wings are from a gem of a store La petite fleur (aquapolis (186, 176, 41) which has put out the cutest little khaki dress. One word of warning here *Try before you buy, all the prim skirts are no modify!*($0)



Additional items: Hair pictured with the La petite fleur outfit is from Free Speerit, (Quest III 155, 150, 22). These hairs will only be available for a very short time ($0-rush). The shoes are an old stand by from Ada Store (Fontaine (39, 104, 50). ($0)

101: Random Hopping

Woot, post #101 that's a lot of darn blogging! So tonight I was pretty bored after finishing my shift up at the Velvet (My friend Zac (the dj) asked me to come and hang for a while. So if you get a chance stop by and say hi after 8 pm. This would be an ideal time to meet me rather than call/instant message me a hi. =). Cristinia let me tag around behind her to document her freebie frenzy and this is the restults:

The first stop was at a little market set up until 14 April. There's a little over 20 booths at Waseda (waseda 125/121/26) market. Most things were fairly inexpensive so we really took our time looking around. There were lots of freebies ($0) and a couple dollarbie items. Some items aren't marked as being free so it really pays to scroll over everything. There's also a booth that is filled with completely free items- these items can be found at almost any freebie place, but would be helpful for either a male or female human avatar just starting.



For the pants outfit I used a pair of boots I found on the docks at the Hobo Info Hub (Calleta 78,163,25 -follow the railroad tracks to the docks.). I'm also wearing a pair of glass shoes from Ada Store ($0- Fontaine (39, 104, 50). The skin is an oldie, but goodie from Rabbit Skin ($0 - NEOJAPAN TOKYO 147,60,22).


Next we hopped over to Japon's Seaside Mall (Japon 81, 7,22). Although this appears to be a newer place with lots of open vendor slots the freebie section is nice. There is a lot of variety in the freebies: a couple of dresses, guitars, tree, hair accessories, pets, shirts to name a few. There's also a $10 and $15 dollar photo studio with several $10 packs of textures that may be of some interest. Here's a pic of a nifty little maids outfit I picked up at the Japon's Seaside Mall:



The tights are from the Waseda market, hair from +LALA Moon+ Prim Hair Shop (LALA Moon (126, 210, 28) - which has also added a number of camping chairs for hair, skin from Rabbit Skin, & shoes from Ada Store.

Access (Access 158, 108,22) sim also has a small market set up, but there were no signs so I'm not sure how long this one is set up. You'll find a fair number of stalls set up at this area also. I only saw two vendors that were also at the Waseda market area. So it would be a good idea to hit both the goods ranged from clothing, to avatars, to furniture. You'll find dollarbie skin for the girls & freebies including clothing, avatars, hairs, & furniture for both males and females. Couple of the looks, but believe me there are more from the market area:

Lastly, I checked out the bottle hunt & art show - read more on Candy's blog here. I picked up a couple (well, 3) bottles ($1/) at Candy's store Apiece of candy (Immintel (160, 180, 100). Skin & dresses from the hunt. I also saw that the eggs from the sim to sim easter hunt were still out, so if you didn't get those you may want to rush over and pick those eggies up before they are gone.

Token Sim

If this has passed you by then you'll defiantly want to stop and take a gander at this sim. Token (Token sim) has a number of excellent outfits for women complete with jewelry, shoes, and POSES. The guys have a choice of two judo suits each with a unique pose, both excellently shaded with prim attachments. And there are also 3 cute mascots- for girls or guys. Simply fly or walk around and touch the cutouts on the pedestals and you'll receive the outfit pictured. You'll want to fly around the whole sim as there are TWO levels of buildings with these cutouts. Not all the outfits available here are pictured.



The skin used is from Char's SHOP (uemachi 37,110,29) blogged about below. The hairs are from Tekuteku (Shinjuku 72,154,22) which has 2 female hairs , 1 male - $1 each (Hairs $200/3color pack , $1 demos).

San Leandros Sim

I have to divulge the first time I happened upon this sim was through a freebie notice. Which I never did get, because I got to entranced by the lovely setting off to the left from the central teleportation point. So, while chatting with some new fellow I morphed into a mermaid and planted myself in the lovely little pond and took a couple of pictures until that devilishly beautiful Ofelia distraceted me with stories of her shopping withdrawl blues and we attacked the Prim & Proper sale and spent the day goofing off.

But, today I loged in to the reception of a little note from Helena Compton about her store on the San Leandros sim and a dollarbie bag available there. She sent me a sample and I have to say, thanks! I love that it has a pose and it is a good one. The texture is chic and the product appears well made. So here I find myself hooked like a fish wandering around San Leandros all thanks to the bella Helena grazie. =)

Hamming it up in TV Station Sim

If you guys haven't checked out some of the Japanese sims you really should. You will find that the designers are often less ($$$) than English speaking sims and very nice quality. They also know how to enjoy a GAME and often have wonderful freebies out or just things that are good for the lollers!

Earlier today I was exploring a store named Non-Standard on one of the Japanese sims. I really like this store, because not only do they have awesome freebies, but most things are $20 or less (with the exception of skins which are very reasonable at $600). So here is a picture of all the freebies:

Skins, outfits, toys; located both upstairs and downstairs. There are also some great Chirstmas goodies here for $5-10.

As I walked out of non-standard I'd noticed a sign for a TVStation Sim. Well, I've never seen an sl tv station and decided to check it out:



Find the elevator and take it to the exhibition level. You'll notice the space suit is on sale for $5 and there is a complete free female avatar (skin, hair, shape, suit, bag)

After I visited the exhibition I took a stroll through the adjacent sim Machinima and checked out all the different sets available. If you haven't taken a profile picture maybe one of these backdrops will appeal to you. =) Enjoy the pictures and have fun getting acquainted with your SL.

The *New* Orientation Station

So, does anyone know what's up with the new orientation stations??? Boy, have they changed!

There's one for a couple of movies coming out:
#1 Beowulf:



You'll find shirts and pants for both male and female avatars. And also a Beowulf avatar for guys.

#2 I AM LEGEND!!! This orientation center is great! (And the best thing about it is ZOMBIES! Ok, ok they call them infected, but whatever. We all know they are ZOMBIES.)



If you're not new and going to check out an orientation center; this is the one! If you go through the complete orientation from the beginning you'll be pleasantly surprised.

There is a unisex outfit which includes prim shoes! And not only is there a white skin, but also a black skin. Yay! Someone noticed ethnic diversity. These skins are nice, too!

Ok, so you skipped the orientation bit, because you're not new. I can understand, but you still won't be left out. There are 4 uninfected humans and a police dog avatar. Or if you decide to be an infected you can choose from an infected skin or an infected dog avatar. Yay, Zombies!

And, there's more *if you want to join the fun you can play either an infected/uninfected on the adjoining sims. Just pick up the hud (and weapons if you're uninfected) and follow the arrows over the bridge.

Ok, so you're cup of tea isn't movies. How about TV CSI:NY has an orientation station.... ok, I won't go on about this one. Here's the pic:



Well, there's the pic of the last board I touched. I completed the orientation station and all I got was a lousy badge. LOL (If you do happen to wander down to Fashion Avenue you'll have better luck finding clothes. A male and female outfit should have been closer to the orientation point, guys.)

You'll find skins, prim shoes, clothes, and the first appearance of a flexi dress here!

What about sports? Well, the NBA has a really great orientation station with the most diverse group of human avatars I've seen yet. And I have to say this group is the best looking, too!



Aren't they all great? Flexi hair, pants, t-shirts, and prim shoes; oh my!

Now, there are tons more *new* orientation stations out there. All you need to do is open up your search window and search for orientation. =)
