ten images of inspiration : ship ahoy!
Oh, what a long and exhausting week this has been. I'm currently dreaming of taking a vacation, perhaps sailing around (beaches and oceans have always brought me peace.) Sailor suits and at-sea picnics anyone?

the patron saint of hummingbirds.
This print from Matou en Peluche is totally making me swoon this morning. And it's completely affordable, which means it will be hanging on my bedroom wall soon enough. ($6)

hello, saturday.
It's officially the weekend, thank goodness. These next couple of days I plan to: peruse estate sales, sit in coffee shops, take photobooth pictures, use up a roll of film, drink beer, and warm myself in a cheap movie theater. What are your plans?

positively in love with...
...the artwork of Australian paper cutter/illustrator/painter/designer Luci Everett. Everything is just too darn pretty. (See also: Luci's shop and blog.)

ten images of inspiration : the ladies of alt.
I know that it's been a silent week on here. I have been completely consumed with Alt Design Summit, which has proven to be one of the most inspiring events I have attended. All the bloggers, industry folks, and sponsors have been so genuinely kind and knowledgeable. I feel like I have learned quite a lot and have made quite a few new friends. So, to end the week, I'd like to share some original photographs, projects, and creations from ten of this year's speakers. Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you Monday!

maria elina.
I cannot remember how I came across the blog of Buenos Aires-based artist Maria Elina, but I am quite glad that I did. Her work is so sweet and inspiring- I love how she combines pencil lines, paper cuts, and paint. (To purchase one of her pieces, visit her shop.)

a kitchen gallery.
One of my favorite things when redecorating my home (which I am in the process of right now) is figuring out the art to go on the walls of each room. Today I am working on the kitchen, a place where I want to be spending more time in, but I am realizing that none of the illustrations and photography prints I own seem to work right in there. And so, I am dreaming of a wall of perfect food-related kitchen art that I could look at every day while baking, cooking, and drinking my coffee. I think a collection is in the making...

on to december.
How is it we are already three days into December? The past few months have gone by all to quickly- I suppose this is just a part of getting older. Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely almost-winter weekend!
