Ink & Skin

In the world of high fashion tattoos were unsightly for a long time. Models were discouraged by their agencies to get one as customers usually wanted to have them covered for shootings. But it seems like tattoos do not only take the attention away from the clothes, in some cases they can even enhance a message and accentuate the idea behind a collection. Anyway the effect of tattoos was used by a number of designers to present their spring 2010 collections.

Jean Paul Gaultier's models were sporting their names in huge letters, sometimes even on their faces.

The tattoos at Chanel were much more delicate: body chains and necklaces with the signature double C were surely an eye-catcher.

Rodarte's spring 2010 collection was tribal inspired, so it was only natural that the models arms were covered with tribal and psychedelic patterns.
